SREss phase one update
The goals for phase one are met and the work can be followed below from start of project in January 2015 to end of phase one in June 2016. The main goal for the project is to, through physical research infrastructure, secure the development and quality of the neutron spallation source, ESS. This will create and make possible the right conditions for instrumentation and lead to excellent research and international outreach. Horizontal criterias have been important underlining environmental issues and climate. The project has also been focused on the goals in EU2020 and the Baltic Sea Strategy. The six milestones and their development during the project period are described below.

The foundation work for the G02 is well underway, with some concrete already cast. Backfill in progress along Cryo-Transfer Line Tunnel connecting G01 and G04.

Foundation works have continued for the G02 and detailed excavation - along with drilled foundation - of the G04 has commenced.

The steel beam structure for the 12m high section for G02. Meanwhile the inbound process pipes have been set in preparation for the concrete casting of G04.

Reinforcement and formwork is being prepared at building H05 with casting next week. Excavation for building H06 is also ongoing.

Inner walls have been cast for H05. At H06 formwork and reinforcement are being prepared for casting of the first cable trenches next week.
