Tillväxtverket made a Control at Site visit. They were given a very thourogh review on the Phase 1 including seeing the different subprojects. At the end of the week the consultants Ramböll joined and the evaluation was discussed in depth.

Visit to Vinnova

Progress update.
Projectleader Pia Kinhult visited Vinnova, Agency for Innovation and Sustainable Growth, and discussed how to present the project to other instruments within the EU family. For example the KICs and other vehicles for research and innovation. The talks resulted in some points of action for SREss.

First milestone passed for SREss

Funding for ESS.
Tillväxtverket decided June 13, 2016 to approve the first payment for the period Jan-Sep 2015 for phase one in the amount of SEK 79,4 millions. This is the first of three planned installments. The first phase of the project will end June 30, 2016.

Round Table meeting in Almedalen 2016

Together with MAX IV invited ESS and the project Swedish stakeholders to discuss the upcoming Swedish strategy for ESS. Altoghether twenty people gathered with both engagement and enthusiasm. Vetenskapsrådet will follow up during the fall.
